Taking action on the ICCR President’s request NCW sends team for on-spot assessment of Maharashtra rape case


This growth comes quickly after the request submitted by Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, President, ICCR; MP, Rajya Sabha and Chairman Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education to NCW.

After the brutal rape and homicide of a 32-year-old girl in Sakinaka  Mumbai, the National Commission for Women has despatched a staff for on-spot evaluation of Maharashtra rape case.

“Taken up yesterday itself. My member is going for enquiry in the matter,” tweeted Rekha Sharma, Chairperson, National Commission for Women.

This growth comes quickly after  the request submitted by Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, President, ICCR; MP, Rajya Sabha and Chairman Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education to NCW.

“In response to our request to the Chmn of @NCWIndia Smt  @sharmarekha Smt Chandra Mukhi Devi, Hon.Member of NCW has left for an on-the-spot assessment of situation in Maharashtra, arising out of so many incidents of atrocities on women! We expect thorough probe and stern action !”, he tweeted.
