The Income Tax division on Friday performed separate “survey operations” on the premises of on-line information portals Newsclick and Newslaundry right here, officers stated.

They stated the operations are being performed to confirm sure tax cost particulars and remittances made by the organisations.

Tax officers are protecting the enterprise premises of the 2 portals, officers added.

Newsclick and its founders had been additionally raided by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in February beneath provisions of the anti-money laundering regulation.
