Rupee Falls 12 Paise To 74.58 Against US Dollar In Early Trade


The rupee had settled at 73.42 towards the US greenback. Meanwhile, the greenback index, which gauges the dollar’s power towards a basket of six currencies, rose 0.02 % to 92.53.

The Indian rupee plunged 23 paise to 73.65 towards the US greenback in opening commerce on Wednesday, monitoring a powerful American foreign money and muted pattern in home equities. At the interbank overseas trade, the rupee opened at 73.48 towards the greenback, then fell to 73.65, registering a decline of 23 paise from the final shut. 

In the earlier session, the rupee had settled at 73.42 towards the US greenback. Meanwhile, the greenback index, which gauges the dollar’s power towards a basket of six currencies, rose 0.02 % to 92.53.

Foreign institutional traders have been internet sellers within the capital market on Tuesday as they offloaded shares value Rs 145.45 crore, as per trade knowledge.

On the home fairness market entrance, the 30-share index was buying and selling 0.85 factors decrease at 58,278.63. Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty was buying and selling 1.75 factors down at 17,360.35.

Global oil benchmark Brent crude futures superior 0.04 % to USD 71.72 per barrel.
