Further, more than 85 lakh doses (85,63,780) are in the pipeline,” it stated.

The vaccination drive has been ramped up via availability of extra vaccines, advance visibility of vaccine availability to states/UTs for enabling higher planning by them and streamlining the vaccine provide chain, the assertion stated. As a part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Government of India has been supporting the states/UTs by offering them Covid vaccines freed from value.

Under the universalisation of the COVID-19 vaccination drive, the Union authorities procures and provides freed from value 75 per cent of the vaccines being produced by vaccine producers within the nation to the states and UTs.
