The Indian Army will take part in a two-week multi-nation army train at Nizhny in Russia starting Friday that’s aimed toward boosting anti-terror cooperation. Over a dozen international locations will participate within the ‘Zapad’ train which is able to primarily concentrate on anti-terror operations, officers stated. China and Pakistan are additionally anticipated to participate within the train as observers.
The defence ministry stated a contingent of 200 personnel of the Indian Army will take part in an train that’s happening from September 3-16. “Zapad is one of the theatre level exercises of Russian armed forces and will focus primarily on operations against terrorists,” it stated. “The Naga Battalion group participating in the exercise will feature an all Arms combined task force. The exercise aims to enhance military and strategic ties amongst the participating nations,” the ministry stated.
“The Indian contingent has been put through a strenuous training schedule which encompasses all facets of conventional operations including mechanised, airborne and heliborne, counter-terrorism, combat conditioning and firing,” it stated. Separately, the Indian and Kazakh armies started a 13-day army train on Wednesday.
“The India-Kazakhstan joint military exercise KAZIND-21 commenced today at training Node Aisha Bibi, Kazakhstan,” stated an official. It is the fifth version of the annual bilateral train by each armies. The fourth version of the train was held at Pithoragarh in September 2019. A complete of 90 personnel from the Bihar Regiment of the Indian Army are collaborating within the train.
The scope of the train consists of skilled alternate, planning and execution of operations in a counter-terrorism atmosphere and sharing of experience.
