JNU, DU, Jamia Millia Islamia: Know When Are Universities Reopening In Delhi


Delhi University (DU) performing Vice-Chancellor P C Joshi on Wednesday stated the varsity will likely be opened in a phased method as the security of scholars is a main concern.  According to a college official, a gathering of senior officers was held on Wednesday and the varsity may open from subsequent week.

The college will maintain a gathering with principals, deans and heads of departments on Thursday to debate the state of affairs and reopening of the varsity.

“Our students are located all over India and we do not want to create a panic situation for them. We will reopen in a phased and careful manner so that no student is put in danger or inconvenienced. We will be reopening after discussions and in a systematic manner, Joshi told PTI. We will reopen for some students, then see the situation when we gain more confidence, we will open up for more students,” he added.

Joshi confused the security of scholars is their precedence. He stated PhD and MPhil college students have been coming to campus and the analysis was occurring in a managed method however now will probably be eased trying on the state of affairs slowly and steadily. ”We gained’t open the floodgates,” he confused.

In the primary week of August, the DU had issued an official notification asserting that it could maintain bodily courses for science stream college students in view of a decline in coronavirus instances, following which a bit of academics had expressed displeasure over the college’s choice to name college students to campus. The college had later deferred its choice, with DU registrar Vikas Gupta saying that the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) had not issued any pointers on the reopening of campuses.

“We had to retract the earlier notification since the DDMA had not issued any guidelines (now) DDMA guidelines have come and we will follow them. We will continue with online classes as well,” Joshi stated.
