Flood scenario worsens in Assam, almost 86,000 folks affected

The flood scenario in Assam deteriorated on Thursday with almost 86,000 folks hit by the deluge throughout 5 districts, an official bulletin stated.

According to the every day flood report of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), Bongaigaon is the worst affected the place nearly 53,000 individuals are in misery, adopted by Dhemaji (over 16,000) and Chirang (over 13,200).

At current, 174 villages are underwater and 5,147.34 hectares of crop areas have been broken throughout Assam, ASDMA stated. It stated authorities are working 34 aid camps and distribution facilities in 4 districts, the place 6,592 folks have taken shelter.

Roads, bridges, culverts, and different infrastructure have been broken by floodwaters in a number of districts, the bulletin added.
