Govt Appoints Priya Ranjan As Joint Secy In Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department


Priya Ranjan, Indian Forest Service (IFoS) of the Rajasthan Cadre from the 1998 batch, has been appointed as joint secretary for a mixed tenure of 5 years from the date of assumption of the cost of the put up or till additional orders.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, beneath the management of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, has appointed Priya Ranjan, Indian Forest Service (IFoS) of the Rajasthan Cadre from 1998 batch as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. 

Priya Ranjan, Indian Forest Service (IFoS) of the Rajasthan Cadre from the 1998 batch, has been appointed as joint secretary for a mixed tenure of 5 years from the date of assumption of the cost of the put up or till additional orders. 

As per the official assertion, “Priya Ranjan, IFoS (RJ:1998) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare for a tenure of five years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Atish Chandra, lAS (BH:1994).”

The appointment of Priya Ranjan together with a number of others has been accepted by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) which is headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as per the order by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

Talking in regards to the others who’ve been appointed by the central authorities are Abhay Singh, a 2004 IAS batch of the Bihar cadre, and Vijaya Lakshmi Nadendla, lAS (BH:1995) as Joint Secretary Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, for a tenure of 5 years. 

Meanwhile, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet additionally appointed Pramod Kumar Meherda, a 1997-batch IAS officer, Odisha cadre, as Managing Director (MD) in National Food Security Mission (NFSM) which comes beneath the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare division.
