As many as 26,708 circumstances of rape, 37 circumstances of homicide after gangrape and 27,827 crimes of abduction of minor ladies have been registered in Madhya Pradesh through the previous four-and-a-half-years, the state authorities instructed the Legislative Assembly on Monday. State Home Minister Narottam Mishra gave this data in a written reply to a query submitted by Congress MLA Jitu Patwari.

A complete of 26,708 circumstances of rape have been registered throughout Madhya Pradesh from January 2017 to June 2021, the reply acknowledged. Also, 37 circumstances of homicide after gangrape have been registered throughout this era (January 2017 to June 2021). During the identical interval, 27,827 circumstances of abduction of minor ladies have been registered throughout the state apart from 854 circumstances of abduction of girls (aside from minors), the reply mentioned.

Of these, the best variety of 633 circumstances of homicide have been registered in 2020. In 2017, 549 such circumstances have been registered, 583 in 2018 and 577 in 2019.
