Following the heay rains, Western Railway introduced suspension of suburban providers as a consequence of water logging at “multiple locations.” “@WesternRly Currently No local train services are running in both UP and DN direction till further notice due to water logging at multiple locations,” divisional railway supervisor of Western Railway’s Mumbai division tweeted. Central Railway mentioned that as a consequence of water logging in tracks at Dadar, Parel, Matunga, Kurla, Sion, Bhandup and different areas, prepare providers on primary line had been suspended between CSMT and Thane.

“CSMT to Vashi services, including Bandra/Goregaon suburban services, are also not working,” mentioned Shivaji Sutar, chief spokesperson of Central Railway. Several lengthy distance trains on each Central railway and Western Railway had been affected as a result of flooded tracks.

Before the pandemic, each Central Railway and Western Railway used to ferry over 75 lakh commuters every day on their over 3000 suburban providers. The suburban providers through the pandemic are restricted to emergency providers employees and authorities staff.
